AWESOME BILL FROM DAWSONVILLE
My Life In NASCAR
BY BILL ELLIOTT with Chris Millard

Legendary stock car driver Bill Elliott has experienced it all in NASCAR. He was born into a family that helped bring the sport from its rural beginnings to the multi- million dollar business that it is today. Along the way, Elliott always stayed true to his north Georgia roots and displa yed a never-quit work ethic that built him into a champion. This year he celebrates his 30th Anniversary of racing at the Atlanta Motor Speedway, solidifying his incredible mark on NASCAR.

Elliott's popularity stems from his combination of folksy, down-home charm with a drive to succeed seldom seen today, all captured in his first autobiography,
AWESOME BILL FROM DAWSONVILLE: My Life in NASCAR On Sale NOW at Amazon.com Taking the reader through his journe y from a small family-owned shop to the pinnacle of his sport, Elliott touches on all aspects of what it takes to run a successful NASCAR team and shares personal anecdotes about some of the biggest names on the track. He shares stories and opinions like only a grizzled veteran driver can.

Elliott picked up his first sponsor in 1981 - Melling Tool Company - and never looked back. He went on to drive cars for Coors, Budweiser, McDonalds and various other major brands, and played virtually every role in a NASCAR team - driver, owner, chassis man. Elliott has raced against and beaten some of the most competitive names in the sport such as David Pearson, Richard Petty, Cale Yarborough, Dale Earnhardt, Darryl Waltrip, Jeff Gordon and Tony Stewart.

Ultimately, the Bill Elliott story is a tale of a small town hero, who used old school values to win at a new school sport. "Our success was the result of our hard work, patience and innovation," Elliott says. "We did it in an era when sweat had far more to do with victory than the size of your computers and or the deep pockets of your sponsors. We gutted it out and ultimately wrote a great American success story."
